ABOUT US
We believe strongly in the power of music to heal and bring people together. Performing is our joy and passion. Each of us has a history of how and why we came to music and the performing arts, and we are excited to share our experience and knowledge with the next generation. Rock n roll is a unique art form that we have dedicated our lives to studying, perfecting, experiencing and making. It's never too early to introduce this magic. Kids rock!

The Director
Katy Porter is a proud SF native who now resides in Sonoma with her kids and animals. Her training includes UC Berkeley, ACT, HB Studio in NY and most importantly "on the job" with so many great directors and collaborators. Katy worked in television in NYC before returning to California to start a family. She has worked in theater education as a director and teacher for over 20 years in public and private schools throughout the Bay Area, her specialty being musical and improvisational theater. Katy recently earned her masters degree in education along with her CA elementary teaching credential. She is a proud "rock mom", who can be found watching her kid play various haunts around the bay. Katy loves directing summer camps! This will be her 11th camp & her 5th summer directing Lil Punks. She is looking forward to playing with your kids!
The Band
As their Spotify bio states "Moms With Bangs is a Bay Area born rag-tag team of mischievous scamps with the goal of making visceral garage punk to scare the elderly." That said, they are the nicest people you'd ever meet who have quickly built a reputation for exciting live shows and musical professionalism. They met at the Marin School of the Arts where they studied under the tutelage of Scott Thunes, Frank Zappa's bassist. They can be found gigging throughout the Bay Area. Their EP titled Jazzercized is available on all the music platforms. Their 7" vinyl Do What's Delicious recently debuted on Jello Biafra's local indie label Alternative Tentacles. Once upon a time these musicians were lil punks who took lots of lessons to get to where they are today. They love teaching what they know and consider lil punks a favorite gig.
